About the doctoral courseThe study programme structure of the doctoral studies is conceived to comprise active learning and preparation of a doctoral dissertation. The study programme consists of 4 modules (Macroeconomics, Accounting, Finance and Banking, Business Management) that offer students the possibility for individual creation of the studies. The existence of 4 modules, where all the subjects are elective, except one, increases the possibility of subject combination i.e. the creation of a great number of various study programmes. In the first semester, students listen to 1 compulsory and 2 or 3 elective subjects at all the module levels. Students are also obliged to prepare and defend a seminar paper in the first semester. In the second semester, students must listen to 3 out of 5 elective subjects at the chosen module level. In the third semester, within the chosen module, students must listen to 3 out of 21 elective subjects. In the fourth semester, students must listen to 2 out of 14 subjects and publish 2 papers. After passing all the exams, students must prepare and submit a satisfactory dissertation. After the completion of a doctoral dissertation, doctoral candidates are required to defend publicly the doctoral dissertation for conferral of a doctoral degree. Besides lectures, as a basic aspect of education, students will be able to get acquainted in a practical manner with economic science and get trained for scientific and research work. Within the research work, students will be trained for research work in economics, writing of scientific papers and doctoral dissertation. At the doctoral course level, the emphasis is on research work while lectures make lesser part of the educational process. Students are offered the choice of over 40 subjects that will provide them with the possibility to advance professionally in various branches of the economy (management, marketing, finance, banking, accounting, etc) and prepare them for individual research work.
